Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions
I’ve taken the OET before and failed by just a few points. Is it even worth trying again?

Absolutely—but only if you change your strategy. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is exhausting. Most of my students come to me after “close calls.” We don’t just “study more”; we identify the specific linguistic “blind spots” that are triggering the examiners. We don’t just aim for a pass; we aim for a margin of safety, so you never have to book this exam again.

“I work 12-hour shifts. How on earth am I going to find time for this?”

I work exclusively with healthcare professionals, so I know your schedule isn’t a standard 9-to-5. My programs are designed to be high-impact and low-fluff. We focus on “surgical” learning—targeting exactly what you need without wasting hours on things you already know. Whether it’s 1:1 flexibility or recorded group sessions, we make the prep fit your life, not the other way around.

Why should I invest in a specialist coach instead of using free materials online?

You can certainly find “tips” for free, but you can’t find personalised diagnostic feedback. The OET is a high-stakes professional exam. A general English teacher or a YouTube video won’t tell you if your letter to a GP is too informal or if your tone in the speaking sub-test lacks clinical authority. Think of it this way: You wouldn’t ask a general practitioner to perform heart surgery. I am an OET specialist, and I provide the precision your career deserves.

I’m only struggling with the Writing sub-test. Do I have to take a full course?

You can certainly find “tips” for free, but you can’t find personalised diagnostic feedback. The OET is a high-stakes professional exam. A general English teacher or a YouTube video won’t tell you if your letter to a GP is too informal or if your tone in the speaking sub-test lacks case note selection or professional tone. Think of it this way: You wouldn’t ask a general practitioner to perform heart surgery. I am an OET specialist, and I provide private mentorship and the precision your career deserves.

How long will it take before I’m ready to sit the exam

There is no “magic number,” because every professional starts at a different level. However, my goal is to get you exam-ready as quickly as possible without sacrificing your confidence. During our initial strategy audit, I’ll provide a realistic timeline based on your current skills and target score. I’m here to get you into the hospital, not keep you in my classroom forever.

What if I’m not sure which program is right for me?

That’s exactly why I offer a Strategy Audit. We’ll look at your history with the exam, your current goals, and your learning style to see if the Surgical Precision (1:1) or the Collaborative Excellence (Group) path is the fastest route to your registration.
