Discharge (verb) to allow somebody to leave hospital. Once somebody has recovered from and illness, they are discharged home.

Discharge (noun) is the process of allowing somebody to leave hospital because they have recovered from their illness/injury.
- I will write up Mr P’s discharge notes tomorrow.
- Mr M needs his discharge medication.
- We will discuss Mrs L’s discharge plan on Monday.
